Foot techno

Sock label

After a hard day’s work as the Dunglish doctor, this woolly piece of Dunglish just made my happy hour. Besides the absolutely retarded title (I had a good laugh), what’s up with using the singular? I use TWO socks, dude. The only argument would be that each sock is sold separately, but my money is on two. Smell you later!

Technical Winter Socks, sound great to me!

Just wait until they hop onto the next marketing bandwagon and start referring to them as “tactical”.

I’ve been reading your site for a while and get much amusement in the things you find. Even as an English teacher at university level, I find many examples of Dunglish in my students’ work. They often don’t realise what mistakes they have made and, in this day and age, seem to refuse to use a simple spell check on their computer.

I will come back to this site and even recommend it to my students to read.

‘this sock’ is not the worst dunglish that can happen. I once saw (but had no camera with me) the terms ‘sockets’ for ‘sokken’. I imagine these ‘sockets’ that looked like socks are electrifying…

Maybe they mean one sock is a work sock and the other is a sports sock. They could be selling odd socks.

Nope, I asked the person who sent this to me. They come in pairs!
