“Dump” is simply Dutch for “surplus shop”, army and navy, making this sign Dunglish and ha-ha funny. On the road between Amsterdam and Rotterdam, there’s a sign with “baby dump”, which always brightens up the drive down south. But that’s Dutch.

It might just about be proper Dutch if the apostrophe were removed, and more so if it were changed to ‘dumpwinkel’.

Zo’n baby-dump had ik ook al gezien in Beverwijk.
Blijkt een echte winkel te zijn, maar loopt nog niet; ik zag er nog geen baby’s gedumpt worden…
